Mini Quest

It's been a year and a half now since I stopped working on Mini Quest.  It was probably the most fun project I've ever worked on, but unfortunately it was never finished.  You can still play it in its partial state on Android or IOS though.

Getting all this together was a nice trip down memory lane.  We had a small team and I did all the art (characters, monsters, backgrounds, particles and animations).  Everything except the UI.  It was such a fun project to work on, our only goal was to make a fun action RPG, which is a genre I love.

Below are all the characters and monsters I did, as well as samples of the 7 environments I made for the game.

Scrapped Comic Pages

As I mentioned a couple posts ago, my wife and I were working on a comic together.  We did the first two pages, but decided we hadn't figured enough of the story out, so we decided to scrap them.  I don't know if we'll end up doing this comic or not but it was fun to try with her.  I thought I would share those two pages here any way.

Fiore

My wife took up rapier fighting recently.  I decided to draw this of her in her outfit.  She is very happy with her hammer pants.

First look at possible new comic

I recently quit drawing Virtual Shackles.  It was a video game web comic I had been doing with a friend for four and a half years.  In the last comic I mentioned having time to work on a proper comic I'd always wanted to do, or to finish my rpg I had made at my last job.

What I'm actually going to try to do is satisfy both urges with the same project.  My goal is to start a new fantasy comic in the rpg genre.  The above image is of two characters from the comic.  I think I finally got a look I can be happy with in this image.

Green Lantern for Project Rooftop

Project Rooftop is holding another competition.  This time its for Green Lantern.  So this was my entry.

I wanted to give him more of a silhouette then he usually has, so I went with the coat look.  It also helped give him more of a sorcerer feel which I thought might be cool for someone who can conjure anything magically.

Ultimately I still wanted him to appear sleek and spacey though, so I tried to keep the forms simple and clean.  I took a chance with the pointed lantern design thinking it would reinforce that sleek look.

I know its probably awkward to carry around the lantern all the time, but I was thinking of him fighting more like a magician casting stuff, which made for a different form of visual action that I thought would be cool.
